THANKS FRANK

Well today has been a great day...I am starting to enjoy my swing and I had some play time in my crib!!! and then Mummy got a phone call from Frank at 1-800-rent-a-husband (aka Uncle Matt) offering to bring us some lunch. So Mummy got to eat and then Uncle Matt babysat me when Mum had a shower. She sure does smell a whole lot better now!!

First and Only Smile Caught on Camera!!!

It took Jacob a while to give a true smile. He would smile in his sleep and when he had gas, but we waited a long time for him to smile voluntarily at us!! But now he is a pro. His favorite place to be is his change table... he loves being closer to our level and loves the comfy change pad!! He sure is a cutie!!!

I sure do love my Bumbo seat... It make's me feel like a big boy and it lets me watch hockey games with Dad!!!

Hi it's me Jacob aka Bean!! Well I am 2 months old today and growing so fast. As of last monday I weighed 13lbs 5 oz, I hear many people say I am HUGE... I sure am following in the footsteps of my cousins Joshua and Caleb.
Mummy and Daddy sure do love me, but they constantly ask me to sleep a bit longer. Mummy thought I would be sleeping through the night by Christmas... how naive! She is now hoping for Easter!!
I loved my first Christmas. I woke up really early (surprise, surprise) and opened my new gifts from Santa, Mummy and Daddy. I got a new train, a swing, a rocking horse, baby einstein dvds and a whole lot more... I really was spoiled from my Nannas and Papas!

Well I have now been alive for two years, part of 2006 and now a few days of 2007!! I brought in the New year with Nana Lesley and Papa Nigel... It sure was an exciting night, we watched the ball drop in time square and then a brawl broke out in front of our house, and some of our outdoor Christmas decorations got ruined.

Well Mummy says she will let me come on the computer more often now, so I will try to write again soon!!!

So I take it all back... Just got a call from the hospital and the case room is full, therefore they have asked for us to come in tomorrow morning at 8:00!! BUT... after today’s stretching and stripping my contractions have intensified and are radiating into my back. My Dr. thinks I might be going into labour on my own... which is supposedly a lot better than being induced!! So I will either go into tonight or tomorrow at 8:00 either one I am fine with. But my dr. did mention that if i do go into labour tonight, there is a chance that they may try to redirect me to another hospital, my gp and ob both said they will fight for that not to happen, but in grand scheme of things they may not be able to make it happen. So if you could all please pray that I will be able to deliver at my hospital with my own dr's it would be great!! We will keep you posted!

GREAT NEWS!!!

We had a dr's appointment today, she checked me and still NO progress. But the upside is she has decided to induce me in 45 min. I have to be back at the hospital by 4:30. So marc and i have run home to gather our belongings and I want to take a quick shower!! So baby Douglas should be here sometime tonight or tomorrow. Please keep us in your prayers!!!

Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down!!

Last week on my sister-in-laws Blog she posted the top ten things not to say to a pregnant woman. They were great and ohhh so true. However, one was not mentioned...

The other day, I walked passed my dad and he said I reminded him of someone...after much contemplation and thought his comparison was that I looked like a Weeble!! The toy for toddlers that never fall down because the yare too fat!!!

So I would like to add to the top ten list. DO NOT TELL YOUR DAUGHTER SHE LOOKS LIKE A WEEBLE!!!

Yet another week with NO progress. There has been no changes in 6 weeks!!! 8 Weeks ago I was told by my obstetrician that it was highly likely that I would give birth in the next 10 days. Well he was WRONG and then 7 days ago I was told that I was likely to give birth in 48 hours and guess what WRONG again. I had my weekly Dr’s appointment on Wednesday and she was very pleased with my lack of progress...so would I have been four weeks ago. However, I am now 36 weeks, they believe baby weighs over 6 lbs and because of the steroid shots he got at 28 weeks they say his lungs are fully developed, I am therefore disappointed in there not being any progression.

But the good news is that I have low blood pressure. So starting next week my Dr. is willing to do what she “ethically” can to bring labour on. So next Wednesday she says she will strip my membranes… don’t understand what that really means but she will also stretch my cervix… I think that is pretty self explanatory! According to my Dr. she can not guarantee this will start things off, but believes there is a good chance. If that doesn’t work then she will have to consult with my Obstetrician in efforts to induce me.

I can honestly say that I never thought I would reach the stage of end of pregnancy discomfort… as I thought baby would be here before I reached that point. I really shouldn’t complain as things aren’t going all that bad, but I will anyway… my hips hurt, my skin feels as though it can’t stretch anymore, my ribs feel as though they are in my throat, sleep is near impossible, and my ankles ache!

Other than all that, I don’t think there is any other updates. We have almost finished the nursery, just have to get a few finishing touches, I will post some pics as soon as it is all complete!

35 Weeks and Still NO Baby!!

Well we thought he was on his way this past weekend. On Friday night the intensity of my contractions increased at about 6:30. Marc was at the BC lions game, mom and dad were upstairs, but I didn't want to say anything, because I think we are all sick of false calls. Anyway at 7:00 the contractions were 7-8 minutes apart, by the time Marc got home from the game at 11:00 they were 2-3 min apart! I really didn't want to go the hospital so tried my darndest to hold off. By 1:00am the contractions were quite a bit more painful. I called my dr's pager and she said to come in immediately... stating "I think this may be it!!" Once at the hospital I was checked and they found no progress, they kept me for a few hours to monitor me and the baby. The hooked me up to an IV to try to stop the contractions as I am still premature, and sure enough it worked! But the next morning I started having some "show"... called my dr again, and she was convinced that I would go into active labour within the next 48 hrs!! Well apparently she was wrong, as this little guy is still inside my belly. However, the dr's comment really kicked our butt into gear... we got our labour and baby bags packed and made sure the car seat was ready!! We also called our dear friend Matt Kennedy, who has just started doing professional photography and asked him to come over so he could take some pic, as it suddenly dawned on us that we may not have another opportunity to take pictures of me pregnant!! You know a good friend when he dropped everything and was at the house within ten minutes. We had a blast taking them and he did an amazing job... so if you ever need a photographer, give me a shout and I can hook you up!!!

Oh yeah one more thing... as of midnight last night, I am officially OFF bedrest!!! I can't wait to get out and do things... first things first...shopping and church!!! I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts over the past 15 weeks... you all have made a HUGE difference!!! Below are some pics... the nursery is in the making... we still have some work to do on it. The pic of the baby is the latest taken at a 34 week ultrasound, they believes he weighs between 5-6lbs!!
